Ohma Ohmie Dual-Voltage Condenser Microphone

The Ohmie is Ohma’s new high-output, low-noise condenser. It’s made for vocals, instruments, spoken word and field recording. A switch on the back gives you two distinct sounds from one capsule.

Two modes, one mic

• 48V: natural, relaxed and balanced, with about 5 dB more headroom. Ideal for backing vocals, acoustic instruments and spoken word.
• 80V: about 5 dB more sensitive, with a punchier, more immediate sound and a slight lift in the lows and highs. Lead vocals and sources that need to sit forward in the mix.

Both modes run on standard 48V phantom power from any interface, preamp or console. The Ohmie steps the voltage up internally, so no special power supply is needed.

• Transformerless circuit, so it needs less preamp gain

Recording tip
Track a lead vocal in 80V and the harmonies in 48V. The parts separate naturally, without reaching for EQ.
