The Pope Audio BAX 2020R brings the tone and simplicity of the BAX 2020 Beast into a stereo or dual-mono 19-inch rack format. Built around the Baxandall EQ concept, it delivers broad, natural-sounding high and low shelf shaping that works beautifully across stereo sources, mix buses, and mastering-style applications.
This rackmount version uses Avedis 1122 discrete op-amps on the input and output, with the output driving a transformer for added harmonic character. A dedicated 20 kHz / 40 kHz high-frequency switch expands the top-end voicing for even more open, airy shaping, while the external ±18 V power supply provides additional headroom over a typical 500 Series format. When bypassed, the signal remains untouched.
