The Pope Audio PRE-BX is a 500 Series Class A/B microphone preamp that blends vintage-inspired tone with practical source shaping. Designed around an API-style input stage and a Carnhill transformer output, it delivers solid gain, musical weight, and a polished character that feels equally at home on vocals, instruments, and creative front-end processing.

An integrated Baxandall EQ gives you gentle high and low shelf control directly from the front panel, making it easy to add air, tame harshness, or shape low-end before the signal hits the rest of your chain. The PRE-BX also includes switchable input impedance for better compatibility with low-impedance microphones, plus an output attenuation option that lets you push the circuit for added colour without overloading the next stage.
